2008

January - Happy New Year All!  Same old, same old.  Brian and Mark find them selves wrapped up in feeding cows (a never ending job it seems in the winter).  Everyone has made it through Christmas and the New Year celebrations.  The boys Walker and Dryden are busy, busy running to hockey, keeping up with school and of course trying to have a social life besides.  The weather is terrific and Dryden takes advantage of it sledding in his free time.  The trees are heavy with horror frost making the country side a picture perfect sight.  The deer are shedding their antlers and many great sheds are being found along the trails and paths they frequently travel. Doug and Lanora, Lynnell's parents are getting ready for an exciting trip to Switzerland and Spain in February. Walker and Dryden's hockey league regular season starts to wrap-up and play-offs and provincials will start soon.

February - Happy Anniversary to Doug and Lanora.  Lynnell's mom and dad leave for a two week vacation in Switzerland and Spain.  Brian and Heath (Lynnell's brother will have to fill Doug's boots while they are gone).  Congratulations to Morgan in making the Northern Alberta Team  going to the Arctic Winter Games in Yellowknife in March.  Mark and Carla are planning a winter vacation to Jamaica in March,  Mark must be  excited to get of the ranch for a few days.  As for Brian and Lynnell we enjoy our on going tour of Saskatchewan Hockey Rinks with our boys and hockey friends.  Brian finalizes his Echo Bay Development Partnership with his brothers and they are ready to start moving some lake front properties.

March - Congratulations Morgan and the Northern Alberta Bantam Team on winning the gold medal at the Artic Winter Games.  Congratulations to Dryden and the Paradise Hill PeeWee Hawks for winning Saskatchewan Pee Wee Provincial "D" Championship.  Well it seems that we are finally going to see some bare ground as March blows through melting some of our snow.  Lynnell's parents are back from their trip to Europe and Doug is admitting that the trip could have been longer as they had a great time visiting Brent in Switzerland and Pablo in Spain.  As hockey winds down the cows will start calving and things will turn into a big rat race.  Brian has started marketing  the lake lots at Perch Lake as well as looking after the cattle at the South Ranch.  Mark and Carla are back from their holiday in Jamaica and Mark is gearing up to start calving at the North Ranch.  The deer seem to have wintered well as there seems to be an abundance large groups  grazing in the fields and pastures.
